Behaviour and /or learning problems in children.

I have a special interest in certain children, who have learning or behaviour problems. This condition, Attentional Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (A.D.H.D.) is are diagnosable and treatable. If left unresolved, will present problems in adulthood with a list of complications all starting with the letter"D". So many children do not receive help vital to their future. Many adults also do not know they are elegible for help for ADHD. I am available for discussions with anyone who might need advice on diagnosis treatment, remediation, placing ,school readiness. Adults may also need advice about their A.D.H.D.

Confusion about medical treatment.

World wide there is unneccessary fear and confusion about a very safe and effective medical treatment. Stimulant medication can be very effective as long as it is correctly monitored. The right dose ,given at the rigth time together with whatever else is required will bring about remarkable improvements. An educated team, consisting of :-parents, teacher, doctor and child working together will succeed. There are no risks or dangers to monitored medication.

When a trial of medication is started a rating scale is completed by both teacher and parent prior to treatment and thereafter at regular intervals. This graph has an incredible ability to evaluate the effect of medication and the progress being made. This graph can also be used in the adult with some minor alterations. The graph has a score and pattern. It evaluates behaviour, learning and emotions. It also determines if dose is correct or if medication is being taken correctly.
